Please cite references and Scripture using a superscript style described by the National Library of Medicine in the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements.html

Reference Section (matches superscripting in the sample text above)
For the Reference Section in summary:
The specific scripture passage. Book, Version. Edition if applicable. Place of publication: Company name; Year.
The super scripted number in the text matches the the number in the Reference Section. The order of Scripture in the Reference Section should follow the order in which Scripture is discussed in your paper (i.e. #1 in the Reference Section should be the first Scripture passage discussed in your paper). It is your choice if you create a Reference Section at the end of the paper or as footnotes at the bottom of each page – either is acceptable.
