Thanks for your post here on the era of Reconstruction. This era helped to set the stage for the civil rights movement which as we know would be a long struggle and still continues today in some aspects of our society. The constitutional amendments certainly were a positive aspect of this era, although it also lead to increased violence and racism against African-Americans.
