Essay 1-Media Memoir 

This assignment is a loose version of a literary history with an emphasis on media such as music, computer games, online video, social networking programs, movies and books.

You should choose a media that has had an impact on you in some way—this can be positive or negative. (You may want to brainstorm more than one to see which really fleshes out the strongest details.)

You will use this “media” to create three different papers, so be sure and chose one you feel connected to.

This assignment will take shape in 3 parts—This week we will draft Part 1

Part I- 

Personal impact– You can choose a specific song, game or book—or you may use a broad approach and choose a genre or music, game or book series, or the like.

For the introduction, you should begin by given some general background about the media you choose.  In creating the background, act as though the reader would never have heard of the media before and you need to fill in the blank for them.

The body of the essay can be one or several paragraphs, but it should reveal the personal impact the media had on you.
