Creating a Business Memo

Instructions: You read about how to create a business memo and emails in your reading area. Now you will apply what you learned by choosing a scenario from the options below and posting a business memo containing a minimum of 250 words in the Assignments tab textbox. Be sure to include Date, To, From, and Subject items as illustrated in the unit reading area.

Scenarios: Choose a scenario and create your business memo:

  1. You have found a defect in a product you recently bought (your choice for the product). Now you are requesting a refund.
  2. You are writing a request to an employer to consider your resume and audio-visual presentation for a job (do some research on a job for this scenario).
  3. You are writing to a recruiter to consider your credentials for a particular position you saw online (do some research on a job for this scenario).
  4. You are writing to the team of volunteers helping you as volunteer supervisor at the “Clean the Beach” or “Clean the Neighborhood” day. You are informing them where and when to meet and how you will go about the cleanup of trash etc.
