Your final speech will be an extension of your informative briefing: Now that we have background information about your topic, you need to take a position on the topic. Create a five minute speech explaining why we should (or should not) adopt your policy or perspective, buy your product, etc.

You can respond to the informative briefing you gave – take the position of being “the boss” who can make the decision about whatever your proposed policy/update/agenda is.

For this speech, you will need to incorporate 5 outside sources that you incorporate during the speech and create a minimum of three ora/verbal citations.

For this speech you will need a live audience (in-person or virtual) of at least two adults. Ideally, they should be present in the room with you and should introduce themselves on camera before you begin your speech. If you are under quarantine, you may use virtual audience members; again, have them introduce themselves. At the conclusion of your speech, your audience can ask you questions if they have any. Failure to have an audience for this speech will result in a 20% deduction from your overall score. Contact your instructor in advance if you have questions/concerns about this requirement.
