1. Course Description
In this course, students critically examine a range of issues that impact upon learning. They read, critique
and discuss learning and developmental principles relating to pedagogy, assessment, motivation,
intelligence and learner characteristics. A major focus in this course is on theories of learning and how
developmental aspects affect learning at different stages of development. All topics are underpinned by
current theoretical and research perspectives in the area of learning and development.
