Assignment: Explain Treatment Options

You have learned about medications used to treat neurodevelopmental and neurocognitive disorders. In the case of neurodevelopmental disorders, parents are often the decision-makers, while children or other family members might be the decision-makers for a patient diagnosed with a neurocognitive disorder. Both categories of disorders require the active participation of family members.
You have been asked to design a brochure for families of individuals diagnosed with either a neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorder. Include two specific disorders and information that is important for families to consider the medication. Start with a brief description of the disorder and include information on common medications prescribed, pros and cons of those medications, and other important information that families will need to understand related to how medication can help the symptoms. You should also consider the importance of adherence and how adherence can be improved.

References: Include at least 5 scholarly resources.

Your brochure should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA 7 standards where appropriate.
