Choose and read the following books:

–2 Newbery Medal or Honor (select ones not already included in the course)

–3 Caldecott Medal or Honor books

–5 Other award-winning picturebooks (Caldecott, Pura Belpre, or other award of your choice.

Develop a response that includes a brief synopsis, your personal response to the text, and ideas for reading with children. This is all similar to the work we have previously done on responses.  also include the following: Name and year of the award, and your comments about the award’s application to this book .

Responses to chapter books should be about 2 doublespaced pages. Responses to picturebooks can be shorter.
