The existing research saw that desistance in terms of marriage (i.e. the ‘Marriage Effect’) was more acutely linked to male criminals where desistance in terms of parenthood was linked more to female offenders – there’s a question in there somewhere about gender and desistance from marriage and parenthood or some kind of comparative analysis across gender but have no idea how to put it? Please include any examples of dissertation questions this subject could feed into, thank you!
