MODULE AIMS

The aim of this module is to support students to produce a substantial piece of original written work of between 7000 and 8000 words (maximum, not including references and appendices) exploring, in-depth, a relevant topic of the student’s own interest, prepared under the guidance of a supervisor.

The final work needs to:

address an appropriate agreed research question;

contain a comprehensive review of the public body of knowledge relevant to the question;

include an evaluation of arguments and available evidence;

be written and presented in an appropriate format that must include an abstract, formal Introduction, discussion, conclusion and reference list.

Teacher-directed versus child-centred influence on imagination and creativity

Discuss how giving children freedom to direct their own learning influences their education.
