Do a half page single spaced journal entry, or a full page double spaced journal entry, on Alice Walker’s “Everyday Use.” You may want to treat what you think the main idea of the story is. What do the quilts symbolize? How would you characterize the mother, Maggie, and Dee? What do you think is the mother’s heritage? What is Dee embracing? You do not have to answer these questions, but they are given as examples of what you may discuss.
