ASSIGNMENT

Draft a one-page proposal for a planned argument in law with the topic “Conditionality mechanism under EU Regulation 2020/2092 with regard to the EU Member State Hungary”.

Rough idea: The argument intends to explain the legal framework of the conditionality mechanism and to describe the use of the regulation with regard to Hungary. First of all, the reasons for the conditionality regulation will be presented.

Discuss the previous legal instruments for controlling the rule of law and their weaknesses. In particular, the case law of the European Court of Justice, but also the legal literature, is an important basis for the thesis. In any case, the focus should be on the legal assessment of the Conditionality Regulation and the case of Hungary.
