Your analysis should answer the question by explaining which 3 sources you selected, how and why you selected them, and what they contribute to your understanding of the question. It is essential that you go beyond description of three primary sources towards contextualization, interpretation, and analysis of the 3 primary sources in relation to each other and to secondary literature (minimum 2 items). The items of secondary literature discussed should be academically rigorous (see ‘What to read for assignments?’ above). When you use ideas and information from primary sources or secondary literature, you should acknowledge the source of the ideas or information by providing a footnote reference and you must include a bibliography. The word limit for this assignment is 1000 words +/- 10% exclusive of footnotes and bibliography. It is important that you adhere to the word limit. This is because we will stop marking at the +10% point so any additional words will not be considered. Conversely, an underweight source-based analysis is unlikely to explore all aspects of the question and will likely score lower marks.
