Tasks
1. Write a 5- to 6-page paper in which you discuss the essential factors of effectively communicating, monitoring and evaluating change management. Address the effectiveness of your personal organizational change management scenario based on these three essential factors. Incorporate feedback from this module’s dialogue as part of your critical thinking and analysis. Use the Change Management: Communication and Evaluation template Download Change Management: Communication and Evaluation template to write your paper and address the following:
a. Introduction/Summation: write an introduction about your critical thinking to date in this course regarding your personal change management scenario; include a summary of the selected change model (or models) that you are applying to your change management scenario. Provide a theoretical focus and underpinning for your work by incorporating a brief synopsis about your selected leadership and cultural approaches for your personal change plan.
b. Communication Focus: Informing of Importance and Urgency: Describe how you will engage organizational stakeholders through communication methods that commit them to the importance of the change. What methods and tools will you deploy? Be specific and detailed on your recommended initial and ongoing communication methods for optimal change management effectiveness.
c. Handling Resistance or Reluctance: propose best methods of communication to address individuals or groups within or affiliated with the organization that demonstrate resistance or are non-committal to the change.
d. Monitoring: What leadership and overall organizational processes and responsibilities will need to be in place to ensure continuous monitoring and reporting of plan progress or lack of progress? (Consider using diagrams and tables.) This is critical and goes beyond simply gathering data. Note that even the best change management plans become dormant or neglected due to leadership failing to monitor progress on a continual basis. Remember – change is constant. Therefore, the best mapped out plan undergoes changes due to its macro and micro-environmental forces.
e. Evaluation:
i. Measurements: what mechanisms will you recommend for gathering and assessing data to reflect the success or failure of plan goals? How will you communicate the mechanisms and obtain data (e.g., via interviews, group meetings, confidential questionnaires, other measures for assessing and evaluating progress)?
ii. Therefore, the best mapped out plan undergoes changes due to its macro and micro-environmental forces.
f. Reflection and Conclusion: write a concise summation of your plan communication and evaluation approach, including reflection upon the greater macro and micro-system in your change management scenario. What other systemic factors or variables should you address? How does the plan look from both a macro and micro level view? Does it address all organizational stakeholders (internal and external)?
g. Support your work with a minimum of eight scholarly references.
2. Submit your paper to Turnitin for review before your final submission for grading:
a. Give yourself enough time to revise and resubmit ahead of the due date.
