Online social media are agonistic arenas where information, ideas, values, and subjectivities are contested between (often uneven) adversaries’ (Rahimi, 2011, p. 158). Drawing on relevant contemporary examples examine how social media have been used for contesting issues of social/political/cultural significance in two different cultural contexts. Must include an analysis of cancel culture, memes, and state power. Provide a clear thesis to answer the question.
