I am precepting at Kaiser Permanente with a nurse manager and the current problem we are experiencing is that Nov. 15, our employees will be striking. The staff had a huge overwhelming response to the vote to strike and almost everyone wanted it. You can read more here
address this as my topic for my Journal assignment. The downfall? Now hiring agencies are having to bring in travel nursing staff and they get paid a huge amount as part of their contract. When you compare the numbers over what Kaiser nurses are requesting versus what Kaiser is going to pay these travel nurses it’s almost easier to give in to the nursing staff’s request.
