Description

This is a 7150 word thesis based on “The role of Corporate Social Responsibility and effects on competitive advantage in the UK Automotive industry. A case study of Land Rover”. The expectation of this paper is a First classification at undergraduate university level.

The paper will follow up split into 6 chapters;

Chapter 1: Introduction – paper should be about the research study of CSR, what it is, problem background, relevance of CSR and competitive advantage and structure of Thesis.

Chapter 2: Literature Review

CSR, What is CSR?

Carolls Pyramid model (1996) – Discuss the philantrophic, ethical, legal and economic responsibilities (mention Adam Smith theory of moral sentiments 1976).

The effects of CSR Reputation:

. Brand/cause fit

. CSR Activities/Actions

. Decision making (mention relationship between stakeholder theory and CSR Freemand and Dmytriyev 2017)

Conclusion

Chapter 3: Resource-based view

. CSR leads to Competitive Advantage mention (Theory of firms possessing competitive advantage Porter (1990) and Peterof (1993) cornerstones of competitive advantage model)

. CSR from the RBV model Barney 1991.

Chapter 4: Methodology

. Type of research (This paper will only exists of existing articles, studies theories and opinions of researchers will be discussed) and also mention in the paper how you only used secondary sources and inductive theories. this approach is more appropriate for qualitative research and only quantitive data can be used to support findings.

. Data gathering methods – what was used to present findings.

Chapter 5: Data Analysis and Findings

. Case study: Land Rover

CSR activities of Land rover, analysis of csr failure in the Uk Automotive industry.

Discuss the ranking of Land Rover in the industry

Analyse the corporate responsibilities of Land Rover have in terms of competitive advantage

. Approach in Risk management

. Responsibility they have to the economy and society, (refer back to Carolls approach of the philantrophic responsibilities) and discuss the sustainable development goals.

Explain why Land Rover has Zero tolerance using articles from reliable sources in regards to to inappropriate and unethical behaviour ( This could be about an employee or employer)
