(a) the binding mass in atomic mass units and

(b) the binding energy in MeV.

 

 

  1. (a) Find the average binding energy per nucleon of each nuclide listed in problem 1, and

 

 

Figure 3.1.1. This figure shows a plot of the average binding energy per nucleon as a function of atomic mass number.  The graph peaks at 8.7 MeV/nucleon.  Iron-56, the most abundant isotope of Iron in the universe, is near this peak.

  1. Find the average radius of each nuclide, listed in problem 1.
