– The essay must range from 1800-2200 words, excluding block quotations, footnotes, and bibliography.
– The essay must have page numbers, needs to be double spaced, using 12-point font in Times New Roman, with a wide margin of 2.5cm/1inch.
– It must have a minimum of 2 primary sources and 4 secondary sources (I have access to an online book about the class that can provide information).
– It must include a bibliography and proper citations; citations need to be in the form of footnotes and follow the Chicago style of formatting.

IMPORTANT! The essay is based on Classical Greek History and you have the choice of writing about ONE of the following three questions (I did not pick which one because I want you to pick what you believe you could answer best):

1. Herodotus was not an eyewitness to the events he describes in his history whereas both Thucydides and Xenophon were. Does this affect the way that each of the three historians present their narratives? Does it make Herodotus less or more reliable? (Consider such issues as the merits of eyewitness reports, the type of sources each historian uses, issues of bias, how much thematic concerns distort the type of material presented, etc.)

2. Could Athens have Won the Peloponnesian War? Discuss.

3. Was King Agesilaus, who reigned in Sparta c. 400-‐360 BCE, responsible for Spartan loss of hegemony? Discuss.

Thank you so much! Attached is the actual document of the assignment.
