As a five year old I was pretty small and thin. For my very first swim lesson, I swam with a professional trying to learn how to swim. It was very difficult. The pool was about five feet deep which is pretty deep for a five year old. As soon I went in the water I instantly sank to the bottom. No one told me how hard this would be. After I was retrieved from the floor of the pool a life vest was put on me. As much as I didn’t like it, it was easy to train with. I began to learn the basics of swimming of what I like to call “doggy paddle”. This is something we practiced just to learn how to get from one end to the other. This was very easy for me and the five year old me did not like to be challenged, so I you may guess I really enjoyed it. In order for me to get from one end to other I could not get my hair or face wet. hat was the very next thing we worked on in my lesson. We first practiced blowing bubbles from our mouth and nose just to prove to me that we can prevent water flowing into our mouth and nose. I did this about five times just to get use to the feeling. I’m ready. I grab my sparkly princess goggles strap them on, and make sure they are extra tight. I practice one more time blowing out my bubbles. Then I go. I quickly swim to the other side of the pool while looking at the ground. When my bubbles run out I swam the rest of the way to the other side. Little did the five year old know her first swim lesson would later be her passion life.

How almost drowning my first swim lesson, it became my passion to swim competitively in college.Discuss
