2. Research aims

2.1 Overall Aims

The proposed research is designed to investigate the experiences of BA university students in Higher Education. The research aims to understand the perceptions of BA University students towards cultural expectations and examine whether this has any influence on them. The research study hopes to establish the position of cultural expectations in the lives of BA university students in today’s modern society.

2.2 Research Questions
i. How do British Asian University students perceive the influence cultural expectations on their identities?

ii. Do British Asian university students think that cultural expectations affect their studies? If so, how?

iii. Do British Asian university students perceive any tensions between wider community expectations and their own personal motivations?

iv. Do British Asian university students perceive that their mental wellbeing is affected by cultural expectations?
