Gender Theory employs some of the basic tenets of Psychoanalytic Theory within the rubric of social discourse (written and verbal social interactions that reinforce social stereotypes regarding proscriptive gender roles and behavior). Keeping that in mind, select one of the stories (graphic stories included) and analyze the story from that critical perspective. How does gendered criticism differ, or not, from a psychoanalytic reading of the story? Does gendered oppression drive the narrative of that story?

Choose one of the stories in this part of Module Three and give a psychoanalytic interpretation of the story (graphic stories included). How do you apply that premise? Identify the power structure in the story (i.e. who has it and who does not). Who is being oppressed by those who have power, and how does that impact the character?
