Is there a difference between managers and leader? Read the article from the Harvard Business Review
Actions
and the article from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement
Actions
and provide responses to the following prompts:
In the IHI article, the author mentions that some leaders have the attitude that they were able to figure out to lead on their own, so all other people should be able to figure it out as well. What is the deficit in this logic?
The author in the Harvard Business Review article lists 3 differences between leaders and managers. If you took the author’s test, where would you land…leader or manager? How do you know? Use the author’s language to support your response, e.g. Counting value vs Creating value, etc.
Read a few other posts and respond to at least one.
Part 1 (3 points):  Provided complete responses to questions 1-2
Part 2 (2 points): Read the posts of your peers. Choose one classmate and provide additional insight to their post. That insight can be:
a personal experience you share that might provide context for your peers comments
OR you can respectfully disagree and provide a rationale for why disagree
OR  you can add insight by advancing your peer’s point, adding something new and relevant to what the peer shared
Just saying, “Good job” or “Sorry you are dealing with that”, does not count as a response. Try to reply to  one person who does not already have a reply to ensure everyone gets feedback
