2) Understand other’s papers with your prior knowledge.
3) Link your domain knowledge.
2. Detailed descriptions
1) Length: Maximum of two pages
2) Font 12, single space, Times New Roman,
3) Choose one paper which uses one of the optimization/linear programing/SVD/Bayes rule/regression in your field. – use google scholar and input appropriate keywords.
4) Summarize the papers: please use their overview figure, if possible, and summarize their methods and/or applications (maximum half page for each). (max ½ page)
5) What method they used and show the relationship between their method and the topics we learn. (max ½ page)
6) Write your research proposal: based on the method in the paper and mathematical tool we learned, you will apply this to a specific topic, and write why this topic is a good example to apply their methods. (max 1 page)
