PREPARE RESEARCH PAPER that writes critically about a woman or other minority (nontraditional) worker in the animation field, whether big business or indie efforts.

Most students are encouraged to use our other textbook, The Queens of Animation: The Untold Story of the Women Who Transformed the World of Disney and Made Cinematic History which tells the work histories of animators Grace Huntington, Bianca Majolie, Retta Scott, Mary Blair, and Sylvia Holland, as well as other credible sources on the women’s creative work including interviews, biographies, documentaries, critical essays, homages, industry histories, and the actual film (etc.) products they helped make.

o This research paper should be 4-6 double-spaced pages or 1,000-1,500words not including an academically formatted (MLA or APA style) bibliography with matching in- text references; and also contain 3-5 referencesincluding, if you select any of those women, the Queens of Animation book.

You can, alternatively, use that book or other credible histories/biographies to study the pathways of other animators in U.S. or global history, especially those from unconventional backgrounds such as poor or working-class people, those raised in rural or impoverished regions of the world, immigrant or Indigenous animators, LGBTQIA2S+ creatives, ethnic or religious minorities, and so on.
