ASSIGNMENT

This is a nutrition-based essay, that is split into three documents. This is a project-based assignment that will entail researching a particular nutrition-related topic utilizing original, researched-based, peer-reviewed articles only. Some example topics include nutrition and pregnancy, nutrition and obesity, college students and nutritional intake, soy protein intake for post-menopausal women. Please use an original peer-reviewed article. This is just one essay split into three! The documents should look like this: It’s all about the same citation/topic!

FIRST DOCUMENT

1. Title/Author Background/Goal & Hypothesis/Citation

  1. TITLE of the article (2pts)
  2. AUTHOR Background: Be specific. (7pts)
  3. GOAL/HYPOTHESIS: Located in the abstract or the beginning of the research article, what was the author’s motivation to publish this article? (3pts)
  4. Include a CITATION in APA format. You will need to submit the citation a few times for this project. Please learn the format. (3pts)
    1. Include electronic link(s) to the article or the DOI number

SECOND DOCUMENT

2. Methodology/Results and Discussion/Citation

  1. METHODOLOGY (5 pts)
  2. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: What were the conclusions? (5pts)
  3. Include a CITATION in APA format. You will also need to submit the citation in the Part 3; please learn the format. (5pts)

THIRD DOCUMENT

3. Topic Summary & Citation

  1. TOPIC SUMMARY (12 pts) – Include 1-2-page, topic summary (12-point font, double-spaced, 1” margins) in your own words. Consider the following prompts and questions when submitting your work:
  • Include the article title for a frame of reference in your first paragraph.
  • Provide the main points of the research article; Remember why the research was done? who or what was studied? what was observed or measured? how long did this research study last? and what were the outcomes?
  • What did you learn about this topic as a result of this research project?
  • Use examples from the research article to support your conclusions.
  • Why this topic interests you?
  • How do the findings affect you personally?

2. CITATION (8 pts) – Include in your final submission a citation in APA format.
