Discussion Assignment: “The American Revolutionary War was not about the ideology of equality, but instead it was a fight about economics. We misunderstand the motivation of the Thirteen Colonies, the Founders and our national heritage when we romanticize actual reasons for their commitment to break free of British rule. The founding of our nation as an independent country was fundamentally about a claim to profit, not about bestowing “liberty” upon the inhabitants of this land.”
