Steps

1. Familiarize yourself with the most recent version of the Sustainable Development Report of the United States 2018.
   • The first half of this report characterizes the US’s performance, moving one by one through the list of 17 SDGs.
   • The latter portion of the document then goes state-by-state assessing each state’s performances on the SDGs.
2. Select a state within the United States of which you will focus your research.
   • Select a state in which you see or would like to see your career take you in the future.
   • Be sure to look at the indicators behind the goals in your chosen State’s profile.
3. Write a 1-2 page brief outlining the performance of your chosen State.
   • Include an intro to your chosen state.
   • Tell us a little bit about your state (you could include a fun fact or an interesting statistic).
   • Identify specific challenges your state faces.
   • Make recommendations on how to address specific challenges.
