Analysys essay about book ;wonder

For this essay, you will write a book report on “Wonder”. You can talk about any aspects of the book but there are two things that you must include, a summary of the book using plot points(explaining key events rather than summarizing the whole book). You should also talk about the characters and most importantly, how they change. There will be no homework next week, you have 1 week to do this, for everyday later that you complete it it will be -1 mark up to -7. The marking will be out of 40. The minimum word count is 400, but feel free to write more.

In Wonder, August Pullman has a few facial disorders that cause him to look very different from other people. When he finally goes to public school in fifth grade instead of homeschooling, he meets several people as he is introduced into the school. Jack and Charlotte are friendly to him, but Julian insults him a lot. When August goes to school, everyone is shocked when they meet him. August meets another friend, Julian starts to pressure Jack to ditch August. On Halloween, Jack says something insulting about August to Julian, only to be overheard by August, who stops being friends with him. After a few months of uneasiness, a few days before winter break, Jack realizes why August is mad at him. When Julian proposes partnership with Jack on a science project and Jack refuses, Julian tries to get him to agree, but gets punched instead. Jack gets suspended, but regains friendship with August. However, Julian manages to turn the rest of the school against them, and no one would talk to Jack. Julian would also leave mean notes to Jack. Later, everyone stops bullying August and Jack. When they all go to a camp that all fifth graders of the school go to, August gets assaulted by a seventh grader from another school, and his friends defend him, earning them massive popularity. At the ceremony, August is awarded the most prestigious award in the school.
August is the main character of Wonder. He has a facial disorder that causes many people to be disgusted when they first meet him. This causes him to be the victim of bullying in his school. He is a nice and funny person, and only the people who are friends of August know this.
Jack is another important character in Wonder. He befriends August when he is going on a tour of the school, but is constantly pressured by Julian to ‘ditch’ August.
Julian is the most popular kid in the school August attends. He dislikes August, and attempts to alienate him and his friends who won’t ditch August.
Olivia is August’s sister, and she is older than August. She has troubles
Miranda is Olivia’s friend, who is very friendly with August and his family. She decides to have a makeover and becomes more popular. Due to the fact that her popularity was based on Olivia’s family and that she prefers being with her and Olivia’s other friend, Ella, she does not hang out with Olivia during the year, causing their friendship to fall apart. She applies for a play in her high school and applies for the same parts that she thinks Olivia would apply for. However, when she sees August is watching her, she wants to be with August instead of playing her part, so she feigns sickness to leave, and Olivia takes her part.
