Description

The Berlin Celebration Concert – Beethoven, Symphony No 9 Bernstein, 1989. Performed to celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War. Uniting singers and musicians from East and West in a powerful symbol of unification, and in what would turn out to be Leonard Bernstein’s last public performance before his death less than a year later, Beethoven’s famous 9th Symphony is a very appropriate piece of music for this occasion.
