INTRODUCTION.

For the introduction I would have to state that the company which I will using throughout the essay is NIKE. I would have to give a brief history about Nike, their mission, their vision and their values as a company.

QUESTION 1
Using relevant concepts and models, critically discuss the strategic perspectives / approaches of your chosen company. (10 marks, no more than 500 words).

* To discuss the strategic perspectives / approaches of NIKE I would have to use The Four perspective on strategy by Richard Whittington. I would have to analyse the 4 perspectives on strategy being: classic, evolutionary, systemic and processual carefully.
* I would then need to critically analyse which of the 4 perspectives NIKE belongs to and why backing up my points with would examples, facts and figure about Nike’s business strategy. As Nike is a big company it would be classified under 2 of the perspectives not just 1.

QUESTION 2
Using relevant concepts and models, fully analyse the competitive industry dynamics of your company (10 marks, no more than 500 words).

* To fully analyse the competitive industry dynamics of Nike I would need to analyse Nike’s external environment using a PESTLE. I would also need to analyse their internal environment using Porters 5 forces.
* I need to use these concept to analyse Nike’s competitive capability in its industry. How it differentiates itself from its competitors. I would need to refer to porters generic strategies and classify Nike under one if the strategies and back it up with examples.

QUESTION 3
Using relevant concepts and models, fully analyse and elaborate on the organisational culture of your company. Considering the current COVID-19 situation what organisational culture changes would you suggest to adapt to the new normal? (10 marks, no more than 500 words,).

* I would need to analyse Nike’s organisational culture. I would have to do this by using the three levels of organisational culture by schein to analyse Nike’s company and give examples with each level.
* I would have to try to draw up a culture web for Nike using secondary research information.
* I would need to critically analyse how Nike’s organisational culture would be affected by COVID-19 and what culture changes should be made and then conclude.
