Industrial Experience Report

Choose three tasks you completed during placement/ job.
Use STAR-L format and describe 3 experiences (one must be technical). Maximum 800 word for each experience
Situation: Describe the environment, the type of people or equipment you worked with. This gives the reader the background information and puts the experience into context.

Task: What was the task you were required to undertake or engage in?

Action: What did you do? Make sure you write from an ā€˜Iā€™ perspective.

Result: What were the results of your actions? (They may not be as successful as you hoped. Often it is the negative examples that show how you learn and develop your skills.) How do you personally evaluate your success or the effect of your practice?

Learning: What did you learn from this experience and how might it affect future practice and performance? What would you do differently in future?

IMPORTANT: This is not a technical report. If you feel necessary to include Theory or Technical results add them as an Appendix.

Analysis of Industrial Experience (Maximum 800 words)
o Summarize your learning experience ā€“ particularly talk about what engineering, administrative and management skills you have learnt.
o Identify subjects/units or experience, you have learnt at the University, which was beneficial to your industrial experience.
o Identify the skills which you have learnt from your industrial experience that was not taught at the University.
o Specific feedback on the course or the individual unit which was delivered at the University will be useful (particularly saying, for example, it would be better if a particular topic would have been taught as a part of a particular unit) ā€“ this feedback will be useful for improvement of the course.
