404.3 Engage in effective professional communication

A list of presentation topics and target audiences has been prepared for you. In each, the audience is not a fan of what you are trying to persuade them to accept. Attached to each option are sources you should use to construct the argument in your presentation. Feel free to do additional research if you think it is necessary.
Key questions to consider when developing your persuasive presentation including the following:
Presentation objective: What do you hope to accomplish by delivering this message?
Audience analysis: Who is your audience and how will you persuade them?
Audience resistance: How will you address audience resistance? Can you convince them that what you propose has some benefits for them?
Evidence: What evidence will you use to support your position?
Organization and visuals: How will you organize the presentation in order to address these key questions in a clear, comprehensive manner?
Choices of topic and audience: Vendors
Historically, healthcare vendors have been able to walk in the front door of a healthcare organization (HCO) and not face any scrutiny. Given new security concerns, HCO’s are requiring that all visitors, including vendors, sign-in at a kiosk and wearing a printed badge. Vendors will be resistant because it slows down their work.

Message: You will now be required to check in at the front desk and wear badges. Physicians
Physicians will now be asked to enter their own orders instead of writing them down for unit clerk to enter. The physician will be resistant as they fear it will take more time than writing the orders.
