Discussion Board Assignments (5)

Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Each thread must be at least 250 words (450 maximum) and demonstrate course related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 150 words (300 maximum).

Students should post a coherent and well-organized answer to the question(s)/prompt. Forums should be written with formal academic language, should demonstrate proper grammar and spelling, and should show interaction and engagement with the course materials, scripture, and classmates (for the replies). Posts should be formatted in a clean and organized way and include at least 2 citations (1 from the readings and 1 from the scriptures). Citations from course material and scripture should be used to support your argument.

Each reply should be substantive and relative, adding to the discussion. Replies which simply say “good job” or “I agree with what you said” without interacting with the topic at hand will not be accepted. Reply to your classmates in a way which contributes to further conversation about the subject matter, remember that each must also show knowledge/understanding of the course material and contain at least 1 citation. (Suggested ideas of how to respond: What do you agree/disagree with in their post? Why? What examples have you seen of the concepts your classmate shared? What details would you add to the things they have shared? How can you expand the perspective given or provide a new perspective on the topic?)
