Description

Traditional hospitality organizations (e.g., hotels, restaurants, clubs, attractions, etc.) are obviously not the only kind of service that exists. There are many other types of products that meet the criteria of being intangible, inseparable, perishable, and variable. For this discussion board, pick a non-hospitality service product and tell me how it meets each of the four aforementioned service criteria. Specifically you should:

1. Identify a service business and tell me what services it sells.

2. Tell me how this business’s products exhibit the characteristics of:

– Intangibility: What intangible products does the company sell?

– Inseparability: How does the company feature simultaneous production and consumption?

– Variability: How does the quality of the product vary depending on time, place, person, etc.?

– Perishability: What is the perishable unit of inventory and what is its life span? For example, a hotel room has a life span of one night, a tee time has a life span of fifteen minutes, spa treatments have a life span of one hour, etc.
