Instructions:
You have been approached to coach an elite-level athlete in preparation for their preseason training. The player has been selected as part of the highest level of competition in your current chosen sport that you are a member of within the Erindale Sports Academy. You will be working with the athlete during a 10-week time frame leading up to this pre-season. You will need to identify the priorities that should be focused on so that the athlete is in peak condition for the commencement of their elite training.

You will be required to put together a 10-week plan that will outline each of the sessions that you will include in your training program over the 10 weeks.

You will also need to select 4 different sessions (methods of training) that will be detailed and specific in what the athlete will do and when they will do it (see attached sample). Provide a detailed explanation or a written plan for each activity (It is not acceptable to simply write “do a 30-minute pool session”). This will also include details of how you will use overload over the course of the time to demonstrate progression in the program. You should describe what changes would be included from session one of week 1 to your final session of week 10.

You will need to consider: Components of fitness – what will be important for me to work on with my athlete that is important for my chosen sport?
