Literature review for PIP research proposal exploring the perception of our own online identity (social media) differs from our actual lives.

6. Provide a detailed description of the study sample, covering selection, sample profile, recruitment and if appropriate, inclusion and exclusion criteria.
How many participants do you need? This relates to your design above. Is this achievable? Can you access this number of people?
You can use a GPower calculator to determine the number of participants needed for your study (http://www.gpower.hhu.de/ )
How will you find them? You might advertise via social media, on Blackboard Spaces, at your workplace via a flyer. You are discouraged from emailing. Can you reach the required number/type of participants this way?
Make sure you include any materials that are needed in the appendix, e.g. the text for a Facebook post, a flyer.
What are the key characteristics of your intended sample? This may link to your rationale earlier, e.g. if previous research has been conducted with university students, maybe you want an older sample. Maybe you are looking at people from a different country?
Are there any key criteria that participants should or shouldn’t meet? You might exclude some individuals (e.g. under 18s, those with particular conditions that make them vulnerable), or have specific criteria to meet for others, e.g. a particular education level, location, experience… This will likely link to your rationale
