• You will produce a reflective essay of 1200 words including the following:
1. A critique of the theoretical and practical elements and concepts employed in your response to the crisis scenario. Possible questions include: What theories did you draw upon in devising your strategies and responses? Were they useful? Why or why not? What strategies were successful? With hindsight would you have done things differently? Academic sources will be required to support your discussion. This should not be a superficial ‘road map’ or ‘notes’ of what transpired but an insightful reflection into the thinking behind your decisions.
2. Detail your contribution to the response and management of the crisis scenario. List tasks and reflect on how your tasks would have contributed to teamwork, timing, tasking and outcomes during the scenarios in a real time scenario.
3. A reflection on your experiences and the validity of these experiences to your overall understanding of crisis management. For example, what did you learn about dealing with time pressures imposed by an organisational crisis? What are some of the risk and crisis communication skills you could bring to an employer?
