Write a research paper written about Jean Watson. Nursing Theory Paper
The subject of this paper will be a nursing theorist whom you select. The paper should include:
Introduction
description
• Purpose statement
Body of the paper
• Identify and definition of the 4 components of the metaparadigm (health, nurse, person, and environment) as
defined by the theorist. (IF the theory did not address the 4 components of the metaparadigm, this needs to be
stated in your paper.)
• Discussion of at least 3 concepts/principals of the theory
• Review a current journal article that used the theory in practice. Identify the setting, describe the population, identify how
the theory was used, and discuss the impact of the theory use on patient care
• Identification and explanation of how the theory (or a piece of the theory) can be used in practice
Summary
• A summary section with the major points of the paper
• Refer to the rubric for more information
The body of the paper should not exceed 6 pages (this does not include the title or reference page(s)).
