Essay Assignment:
Use the writing process to write an argumentative research essay that is six (6) paragraphs to convince readers to accept your point of view.

Topics:
Choose a topic that can be argued/debated and that is interesting or meaningful to you. Consider controversial topics which may affect us locally or a current international/ global topic that you are very interested and invested in.

If you cannot think of your own topic,.  You may not write about: abortion, gay marriage, gay adoption, creationism/evolution, and prayer in public school.

Steps to writing:
The following basic steps should help you write an effective Illustration Essay.

Pre-writing – Choose a topic for your essay – what you will be writing about.
Develop a thesis statement – what you will prove about the topic.
Put together an informal outline containing your thesis statement and three main support point.
Drafting- Following your outline and basic essay style, write your first draft.
